Area-based response to the emergency shelter and protection needs in Lebanon following the Beirut Port Explosion. 

The proposed actions aims to address the emergency shelter and protection needs of the most vulnerable Lebanese, Syrian and migrant populations living in the affected areas of Beirut following the Port explosion; primarily Karantina, Bourj Hammoud, Mar Mickhael, Jeitawi/ Rmeil. A consortium led by ACTED in Partnership with Arcenciel, Concern World WIDE, INTERSOS, SIDC (subcontracted by INTERSOS) and Lebreleif is proposing participatory and area-based shelter and protection assistance in the above neighborhoods in alignment with the shelter sector allocation in close coordination with other actors on the ground. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

Management and Coordination

  • To coordinate, manage, prepare, amend, and organize all activities and tasks set under the project.
  • To follow up on the planning and the execution of the work, and oversee the management of the project and activities with all colleagues and partners in the project, and support the team in delivering their work that it is under their supervision.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of project goals and indicators.
  • To coordinate, support, and follow up on the work of the team
  • To facilitate the work of the accountant by providing all documents for the financial report and payments.
  • Closely observe the progress of the project activities and take appropriate actions with the support of the team members and under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  • To collaborate and support the monitoring of all consultant’s work.
  • Follow up with team members based on the partner and donor requirements.
  • Provide continuous feedback on actions taken to SIDC’s Executive Director, partners, donor, and other agencies when necessary.
  • Collect accurate and timely data for project monitoring, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

   Reporting lines

  • Report to the Executive director of SIDC.
  • Coordinate with the Financial Manager and the accountant when needed to prepare the financial reports concerning project activities.
  • Coordinate with the team members and partners frequently and as needed.  
  • Answer and following up with all donor requests and reporting system in relation to the tasks and activities managed under their responsibilities.

Project implementation and documentation

  • To document and file all data and forms related to the project.
  • To prepare and submit monthly reports to the Executive Director, and submit all related reports to the project tasks.
  • To support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the projects.
  • Be involved in coordinating the work with all team members and consultants recruited for the project.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Respond to requests from Executive Director, partner, and donor

Coordination and representation

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, service providers and other relevant bodies.
  • Provide feedback of actions taken to the Executive Director and other agencies when necessary.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to address specific issues.
  • Represent the project and its outcomes through the coordination and supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Work closely with the team and consultants to monitor work progress.

  Experience required: 

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in project coordination in the NGO field. Experience in relation to public health is highly desirable. 
  • Knowledge about sexual health, youth rights, drug use, human rights, key populations concerns  and other related issues is an asset
  • Knowledge about Gender related topics and past experience in this field is an asset.
