ABOUT ABAAD
ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.
JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of ABAAD Founder and Director, the Human Resources Coordinator will undertake a variety of human resources administrative duties. This includes assisting with recruitment and performance appraisals, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll processing and providing administrative support to employees.
REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to ABAAD’s Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the implementation of HR policies and procedures, in line with the Lebanese labor law
- Coordinate the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts etc.
- Oversee employee orientation and induction
- Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Handle employee complaints
- Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
- Ensure proper implementation of ABAAD Code of Conduct and policies at all times
- Consult ABAAD’s legal advisor on employees’ contractual matters
- Provide support to ABAAD management as requested
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position Good understanding of the Lebanese Labor law
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, clear and concise reporting in English. Knowledge of French is a plus
- Flexible pro-active attitude
- Ability to work under pressure, as individual and in a team
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
