Background

USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI -2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a Beirut-based “Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI-2) in Lebanon.

Scope and Responsibilities

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with MERL team in implementing indicator-based monitoring (surveys, observation tools).
  • Collect data from the field staff.
  • Provide day-to-day data quality verification and ensure all data is properly shared with MERL team and database manager.
  • Assist in online reporting of indicators and data in coordination with the Senior database manager.
  • Assist in the development of M&E tools
  • Conduct regular field visits to oversee routine program monitoring activities to support and/ or supervise data collection or verify data quality.
  • Assist in documenting qualitative data, success stories and lessons learned.
  • Maintain clear filing systems (M&E share drive and hard copies).
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested, including in support of other World Learning projects.

 

               Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social Sciences, statistics or similar field.
  • Proficient in English and Arabic
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel/Word/PowerPoint; knowledge of Microsoft Access is an asset
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Attention to detail to catch errors
