Project description
Developing Rehabilitation Assistance to Schools and Teachers Improvement (D-RASATI) will improve educational outcomes in Lebanon by improving teacher and student performance, increasing community and parental involvement, and improving the school learning environment. The D-RASATI program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
 
Title:  Monitoring Engineer
 
Summary:  The D-RASATI program seeks Monitoring Engineers to assist the project Monitoring & Evaluation team with quality assurance related to the project’s rehabilitation of schools.  The position is part of the Monitoring and Evaluation Team and is located in Beirut, Lebanon.
 
 
Essential functions include [but are not limited to]:
 

Monitor timeliness, fidelity, and quality of construction, repair and/or engineering activities according to established protocols;
Conduct periodic visits to school rehabilitation sites in all Lebanese districts and generate visit reports;
Track progress across schools and identify hindrances or opportunities;
Ensure accuracy of data;
Work collaboratively with D-RASATI’s rehabilitation partners to generate and support strategies for redressing/remedying identified issues

 
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
 

Civil engineer or architect, or electrical or mechanical engineer with relevant broad experience in construction trades
At least 5 years of relevant work experience
Experience with project monitoring in the field is required
Successful strategies for working under pressure to meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Native Arabic speaker with good writing skills in English
Experience with USAID-funded programs is a plus
