Project Manager
General objective of the position: the project manager ensures the proper implementation and coordination of the project.
Responsibilities and tasks:
1) Management
The team includes 1 education coordinator in charge of a team of 12 teachers, 1 psychosocial support activities coordinator in charge of a team of 15 animators, 1 social worker, 1 case management specialist, and 1 psychologist.
The project manager is in charge of:
- managing directly the two coordinators and the social worker;
- organization of weekly coordination meetings;
- participating in the recruitment process;
- monitoring the field work by regular visits to the centers;
- identifying the weaknesses of the team and providing them with the relevant training.
1) Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
The project manager monitors the project implementation in compliance with the strategies of intervention defined by ALPHA and UNICEF, and in collaboration with the Alpha education coordinator and psychosocial coordinator. He/she:
- ensures the team coordination;
- updates regularly the activities planning and achievement;
- controls the expenditures and monthly updates the budget follow-up form in collaboration with the project accountant;
- ensures the quality of implementation of all aspects of the project within the defined time frame.
2) Field supervision
The project manager:
- liaises and maintains good relationship with local authorities, NGOs in the district and other stakeholders in collaboration with the education coordinator (specifically in charge of relationship with the schools);
- participates in evaluating the humanitarian and security situation and the main needs in the region considering possibilities of implementing new projects.
3) Reporting
The project manager:
- evaluates and monthly reports about the project implementation to ALPHA management;
- is in charge of the reporting requested by UNICEF.
PROFILE REQUESTED
- Proven experience in humanitarian work
- Master degree in project cycle management or any other relevant field
- Previous experience on Education or Child protection is an asset
- Management skills
- Communication skills
- Excellent writing abilities in English
- Excellent command of Arabic and/or French
