About the AIFThe Arab Image Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation and study of photography and other related visual material from the Middle East, North Africa and the Arab diaspora. Established in Beirut in 1997, the foundation holds a collection of more than 600,000 photographs from the mid nineteenth century through today. Since its inception, the AIF has produced fifteen exhibitions and seven publications in partnership with international museums, galleries and cultural institutions. Role and responsibilities
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will work closely with the AIF director and the AIF’s fundraising committee.
Tasks will include but not be restricted to:
Fundraising and development
-          Designing and implementing fundraising strategy
-          Creating and maintaining fundraising tools
-          Designing and producing grant proposals
-          Writing AIF annual report
Communication
-          Assisting director in developing income-generating activities
-          In charge of the AIF website, social media and quarterly newsletter
-          Maintaining AIF communication tools
-          Following-up with media requests and compiling the AIF press book
-          Documenting and promoting AIF events
-          Editing texts to be published by the AIF
-          Facilitating internal communication
 
 
Profile
Academic background:
-          Applicants must have a graduate or post-graduate degree in literature, creative writing, art history, communication or related fields.
Professional experience: applicants must have 2 to 5 years experience in
-          Copywriting/editing
-          Grant-writing
-          Social media and community management
Other
-          Must have excellent writing skills in English and Arabic
-          Must be curious and very proactive 
-          Applicants must be eligible to work in Lebanon
 
Availability
The position is available from 1 February 2014 and is offered on a full-time basis.
