JOB TITLE: Project Assistant

LOCATION: Bar Elias (priority will be given to residents of Bar Elias)

OXFAM PURPOSE: To work with others to overcome poverty and suffering
 
TEAM PURPOSE:
-          To provide secure, efficient, timely and cost effective programme support to the Lebanon Programme;
-          To ensure that Oxfam meets its business objectives and ensures that systems and procedures are in place, in accordance with local laws.
 
JOB PURPOSE: support to the Senior Programme Officer in the implementation of the activities of the project “Rapid employment initiative to support the resilience of the municipality and of the vulnerable communities of Bar Elias (Beqaa Governorate)”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by Oxfam Italia in partnership with the Municipality of Bar Elias.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the implementation of the project activities to ensure it meets the stated objectives;
Assist in the identification of beneficiaries;
Provide day-to-day support and supervision in selecting the beneficiaries and implementation of the activities;
Ensure attendance sheet and other relevant documentation is properly filled in and processed;
Review the achievements and constraints of the project and provide feedback accordingly;
Assist in managing and monitoring the project implementation;
Coordinate activities with Bar Elias municipality and Senior Programme Officer;
Report the progress of the work to the Senior Programme Officer on weekly basis;
Report the use of materials and possible improvement;
Any other responsibility or task that may be assigned by line manager.

 
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and objectives;
2 – 3 years of experience in working with NGOs or with other relevant institutions in local development sector;
Good oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English;
Experience at working with communities and civil society organizations;
Team player, self-motivated, ability to work with little supervision;
Good Knowledge of the Central Beqaa context and, particularly, of Bar Elias;
Good command of Microsoft office and ability to operate E-mail/Internet systems;
Flexibility and ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced work environment;
Excellent time management and attention to details;
Relationships’ management (working in teams, communicating information and ideas, conflict and self-management).
