Child Protection Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Child Protection Coordinator will work in cooperation with the relevant Sector, Program and Partnerships Coordinators.
He/She will handle the below responsibilities:
1) Being Accountable for the implementation of the child protection project;
2) Advising Sector and Program Coordinators on mainstreaming protection in other sectors of intervention;
3) Contributing to capacity building in the sector of protection for the staff;
4) Attending protection related meetings with donors and partners, in cooperation with the relevant Coordinators;
5) Monitoring the child protection activities at the field level in coordination with the protection field staff including social workers and psychologists;
6) Providing technical support in the sector of protection to social workers and psychologists;
7) Drafting field visit and monthly reports in addition to other reporting tasks as per donors and partners requirements;
8) Contributing to the programming of protection projects;
9) Identifying needs and gaps in programming and proactively suggest new activities to enhance the protection activities;
10) Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
1) Previous experience with NGOs or UN agencies in the sector of protection as a coordinator, psychologist or senior social worker;
2) Previous experience in working with women, children and youth immigrants and/or refugees;
3) Previous experience related to protection programs financed through UNHCR, UNICEF, ECHO and other prominent institutional donors;
4) Previous experience in implementing psycho-social and protection programs (design of workplan, logframe, M/E tools, vulnerability criteria, reporting, etc.);
5) Capable of applying his/her skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, advisory functions, training and the transfer of technical skills to others;
6) Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
7) Very good Arabic;
8) Ability to work under pressure and to respect deadlines;
9) Knowledge of the Lebanese and of the Syrian crisis contexts;
10) Team work;
11) Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of application;
12) French (Asset)
