ResponsibilitiesThe PSS Officer has the overall responsibility to ensure that quality psychosocial support activities both community-based and focused are delivered to children, caregivers and adolescent boys in a timely and efficient manner with the support of the Child Protection and GBV Coordinators. Technical Support• Provide technical guidance, on the job training, coaching and mentoring to the PSS team on child protection and GBV minimum standards• Provide technical guidance, on the job coaching and mentoring to the PSS team on the principles of psychosocial support and learning and development principles for children and adults.• Ensure the team is trained and provide coaching on PSS toolkits, approaches and curricula for caregivers, children and adolescent boys.• Ensure that all spaces where activities are implemented meet interagency standards for safe spaces whether mobile or static• Track capacity building needs of each staff member in the PSS team and establish capacity building plan• Observe PSS activities at least three days a week and provide technical guidance on facilitation skills, child protection, GBV and PSS key messages and communication skills • Ensure that the PSS team meets a minimum amount of referrals to case management, , specialized or inter-sectoral services on a monthly basisStaff Management• Efficiently manage the time and schedule of PSS teams in mobile and centre-based locations (including leave and holiday planning)• Support each member of the PSS team to develop a weekly, monthly and yearly workplan. Update it regularly and follow-up on its implementation• Hold weekly team meetings to discuss challenges and successes faced in implementation• Hold regular individual feedback sessions with member of the PSS team to provide guidance and suggestions for improvement on the performance of each member• Ensure staff are sufficiently trained and supported to collect quality and useful information to be used for reporting or communication purposes• Ensure staff are sufficiently trained and supported to understand the expected outcome and purpose of the project and activities• Ensure tasks are clearly and transparently allocated and followed-up on in a timely fashion• Ensure that consent is taken from caregivers for the participation of their children in DRC activities. Including signing the permission slip for participation and transportation Grants Implementation and Reporting• In coordination with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) officer, ensure the quality implementation of the grants’ MEL plan. Share the results and lessons learned in a timely fashion with the relevant parties• Document gaps, bottlenecks and challenges in implementation and develop action plans to address these• Monitor the progress of project targets against indicators on a weekly basis• Support the PSS team to enter data safely in line with the principles of informed consent, need to know principle and respect for the confidentiality of information• Contribute to the overall protection monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures.• Liaise with local partners and community leaders/focal points to identify vulnerable individuals in  areas of intervention• Write field visit daily and weekly reports on major findings, needs and problems faced;• Maintain and update database for PSS activities. Monitoring data entry on Activity Info Coordination and Representation• Coordinate donor or internal visits to PSS or community-based activities .• Ensure that at least oral consent is given at large events where communication material is collected (images, quotes etc.)• Maintain positive relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders through information sharing and coordination• Actively participate and contribute to child protection, GBV and other relevant coordination mechanisms as requested by the protection manager. Share relevant information and action points with the protection manager and CP/GBV coordinators when applicable• With the support of the senior management , advocate for child protection and GBV issues identified with donor field focal points and through coordination mechanisms• Support the mainstreaming of child protection and PSS key messages and principles to other programs and projectsOther• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection Manager Essential attributes:a)            Essential qualifications: •             Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology Child Development or other related field•             Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and GBV minimum standards and basic principles•             Excellent knowledge of psychosocial support basic principles and PSS key messages to vulnerable children and caregivers•             Excellent knowledge of child and adult development and learning•             Excellent knowledge of basic facilitation skills•             Excellent knowledge of safe identification and referral principles•             Good knowledge of GBV and Child Protection case management•             Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times•             Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)•             Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility•             Comfortable in a multicultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well•             Flexible working hours availability Essential experience: •             At least 3 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically in Child Protection or GBV sectors•             Experience managing teams•             Experience providing on the job coaching and mentoring and building capacity of staffPreferred attributesa)            Preferred qualifications:•             Master’s degree in Social Work and/or Psychology b)            Preferred experience:•             Previous experience in working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon•             Previous experience in Child Protection and/or GBV psychosocial support•             Previous experience managing large teamsCompetency profile:•             Analytical skills•             Flexibility•             Communication•             Teamwork skills•             Stress management •             Professionalism•             Staff development•             Conflict management•             Initiative•             DiplomacyLanguages: •             Fluency in Arabic required•             Fluency in English required
