Project Manager, Lebanon

You will be an experienced project manager in the development sector with strong and demonstrable management, organisational and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will take up a trusted position in the company with the opportunity to help shape the future direction of Aktis the Levant as it continues to grow.
The successful candidate will lead the management of projects to ensure their smooth running and effective delivery, and support on business development. They will interact and communicate with our clients, project partners and technical associates and support the expansion of our project portfolio by developing an understanding of key stakeholders, networks and current issues.
The individual will be:

An experienced project manager, able to manage a team and budget to deliver client outcomes and versed in working with Clients to achieve impact.
Well organised and able to work independently.
Dynamic and able to work within multi-cultural teams in complex political contexts and
Will have an interest in working with the security sector; you may also have experience in strategic communications, conflict analysis or development experience.

Key Responsibilities
Project Specific

Manage the implementation of projects in governance and security and justice;
Lead on project financial management (budgeting and financial reports), manage project financials, procurement, expenditure and risk management.
Feed into project strategy through research and analysis;
Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of project stakeholders, including the security sector;
Lead stakeholder mapping, lead and oversee reports to a range of stakeholders for any new projects;
Manage workplan, a team of consultants and project delivery;

Regional business development:

Take a leading role in identifying and converting new business opportunities;
Participate in meetings with local stakeholders / partners / clients and represent Aktis Strategy at events and meetings as required.

Professional Experience
The successful candidate will

Have experience implementing complex programmes for international donors, particularly with security sector or governance programming. 
Be interested in exploring and adopting innovative approaches to programme implementation.
Have previous experience of working in the Levant developing a network of contacts and identifying new business opportunities.
Have a Masters-level qualification in a science or humanities subject. In exceptional circumstances, candidates without a Masters-level qualification will be considered.
Have a minimum of six (6) years’ post-qualification experience in development, research, law, management consultancy, civil service, banking, engineering, defence or equivalent.
Have the existing right to work in Lebanon.
