To support this project, IECD and SDA are soliciting proposals from qualified conservation specialist of historical surfaces to manage the assessment and training for surface conservation at the Hammam Al Nouri building, located in the historic old city of Tripoli. The selected Conservation Specialist of the Historical Surfaces will be responsible for the hands-on conservation, of the historical surfaces in the Hammam, including wall paintings, stucco, plaster, and wood. The role involves direct intervention on the surfaces to stabilize, clean, consolidate, and restore the surfaces using traditional and modern conservation techniques. The interventions will be carried out in the frigidarium area (central space), including the central dome, ceiling, walls, and the painting of the wooden partition.

The scope will include the preparation of an assessment report, and the training of approximately nine apprentices through hands-on, on-the-job application.

The specialist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with architects, and project managers to ensure the best conservation practices in accordance with international standards (ICOMOS, ICCROM, UNESCO guidelines)
