Purpose of the assignment:

Kvinna till Kvinna is looking to engage a communication expert to develop a tailored communication strategy for our local partner. The 2025-2027 strategy will provide a roadmap for effectively communicating the organization’s work, achievements, and impact to its key stakeholders, including beneficiaries, donors, partners, and the public.

 

Scope of Work:

The communication expert will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Situation Analysis: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organization’s current communication practices, tools, and channels.
  • Stakeholder Analysis: Identify and map key internal and external stakeholders, their needs, and the best communication approaches for each group.
  • Strategic Messaging: Develop clear and consistent key messages aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Channel Strategy: Identify the most effective communication channels for reaching different stakeholder groups, including digital, print, social media, and traditional media.
  • Content Development Guidelines: Provide guidelines for the creation of engaging content (written, visual, and multimedia) across different platforms.
  • Internal Communication Plan: Design an internal communication plan to foster collaboration, transparency, and engagement within the organization.
  • External Communication Plan: Develop an external communication plan to enhance visibility, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
  • Capacity Building: Provide coaching and training sessions to ensure effective implementation of the strategy.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Propose tools and indicators to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the communication strategy over time.

 

 

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

The expert will be expected to deliver:

  1. A comprehensive communication strategy document.
  2. A situation analysis report based on the current state of communication within the organization.
  3. Key messaging guidelines tailored to the organization’s target audience.
  4. A communication channel matrix with recommended tools and platforms.
  5. An M&E framework for ongoing assessment of communication efforts.

 

Timeline:

The assignment is expected to be completed by end of November. Key milestones and deadlines will be agreed upon with the selected expert.

 

Required qualifications:

- Proven experience in developing communication strategies for NGOs or development organizations.

- In-depth knowledge of the Syrian and MENA contexts.

- Fluency in both Arabic and English.

- Strong understanding of communication tools and digital media platforms.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including local organizations.

- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.

- Familiarity with the local communication challenges.

- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
