Background:

SHiFT is currently implementing a project under SHABAKE 2, a program facilitated by Expertise France in Lebanon, and funded by l’Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Denmark’s development cooperation (Danida).

SHiFT’s intervention is supporting 56 business owners that are struggling in their livelihoods with coaching and training, and is distributing in-kind grants or material to the 56 nano-enterprises based on their business needs. SHiFT is also providing needed technical support related to business recovery and crisis management and is empowering the selected businesses to access to new online and offline markets through branding materials design and small video advertisement production, along with access to market activities such as event, exhibitions or e-commerce platforms registration and linkage.

As a result, SHiFT has developed and established a social enterprise “The Grand Khan”, which is a marketplace initiative for businesses to showcase their products and services; under Shabake 1, SHiFT was able to launch a prototype, and the beneficiaries under SHABAKE 2 program will benefit from the Grand Khan services.

The business hub is a dynamic directory designed to connect and thrive businesses. It clusters enterprises by category, offering a streamlined ecosystem for easy access to markets. The directory is user-friendly, allowing businesses to easily navigate sectors, promote visibility, and facilitate strategic partnerships. It adapts to industry trends and user needs, with robust search functionalities and personalized filters. The directory serves as a powerful launchpad for businesses seeking market exposure, transforming categorization into connection, segmentation into collaboration, and isolation into a vibrant marketplace.

Job Summary

SHiFT is seeking proposals from qualified consultants/companies to provide expertise in marketing our application. The objective is to enhance awareness, engagement, and adoption of our app among our target audience. The selected consultant will play a crucial role in developing and executing effective marketing strategies to promote the app and drive user acquisition. The consultant is expected to support SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team to market for the application- an e-commerce platform created by SHIFT, and will benefit from different access to market activities such as market, points of sales, exhibitions and others, as well as provide active guidance to train other relevant entities how to use the application.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Market Analysis:

  1. Conduct a thorough analysis of the target market, including demographics, preferences, and behavior patterns.
  2. Identify key competitors and analyze their marketing strategies and positioning.
  3. Provide insights and recommendations based on market research to inform the development of marketing strategies.

Marketing Strategy Development:

  1. Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to our application, including objectives, target audience segmentation, messaging, and channels.
  2. Outline specific tactics and initiatives to achieve marketing goals, such as user acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  3. Incorporate both online and offline marketing channels, including but not limited to digital advertising, social media, email marketing, influencer partnerships, events, and PR.

Campaign Execution:

  1. Create compelling marketing materials and content to promote the app across various channels.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of marketing campaigns, including campaign setup, scheduling, and monitoring.
  3. Optimize campaigns based on performance metrics and user feedback to maximize effectiveness and ROI.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  1. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing initiatives.
  2. Monitor campaign performance and provide regular updates on progress towards marketing goals.
  3. Analyze data and metrics to derive actionable insights and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

Other General Functions

  • Support and assist SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team to market for the application.
  • Work proactively with SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team to train other relevant entities how to use the APP.
  • Take ownership for using tools (digital and others) to market for the application.
  • Train SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team on specific tools for marketing and digital marketing
  • Follow up on actions discussed with the MSMEs, gathering feedback and sharing personal learning.
  • Respect SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team’s experience, ideas, guidance and time
  • Maintain good relationship and communication with SHiFT Social Innovation Hub team
  • Participate in the meetings and trainings provided for the marketing of the application
  • Maintain confidentiality of the details relevant to the application

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record of success in marketing mobile applications, preferably in a similar industry or market.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and content marketing.
  • Experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive user acquisition and engagement.
  • Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in using marketing analytics tools to track and measure campaign performance.
  • Fluency in [relevant languages] is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Essential - Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing/ Communication/ Digital marketing tools/ Social Media
  • At least 3 years of work experience.
  • Strong capacity to coordinate with a team.
  • Familiarity with the Lebanese economy, market, Labor Market and Social Entrepreneurship.
  • Integrity, fairness and impartiality.
  • Ability to manage sensitive cases and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of the Application functioning.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic circumstances in post Beirut blast zones
  • Demonstrable understanding of the gendered dynamics of labor relations, and linkages to decent work
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.                                                                         
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
