The Lebanese American University (LAU), in collaboration with the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS), is seeking applicants for the position of a part-time Country Program Coordinator (CPC) for the New Generation of Social Scientists in the Arab Region Fellowship Program (NewGen) in Lebanon. This unique opportunity seeks a qualified individual to coordinate fellowship activities, liaise with partner universities in Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine and Tunisia and contribute to the development of a new generation of social scientists in the Arab region.

About NewGen

The Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) is a regional, independent, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening social science research and knowledge production in the Arab region. Through several programs and activities, the ACSS supports researchers and academic/research institutions intending to contribute to the creation, dissemination, validation and utilization of social science research, as well as to enrich public debate about the challenges facing Arab societies. To advance its mission, ACSS launched in early 2019 a new mentorship and training program under the name ‘A New Generation of Social Scientists in the Arab Region Program’, which is referred to as the ‘NewGen fellowship’. NewGen targets university students at the BA, MA and PhD levels in Arab universities.

Currently, NewGen is implemented in four countries of the Arab region: Palestine, Tunisia, Lebanon and Egypt in collaboration with 16 Arab universities.
