Design and Construction of a Solar Photovoltaic System

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is currently implementing several projects in Lebanon. For the GIZ Country Office, GIZ intends to award a contract for the design and construction of a solar system in Hazmieh, Beirut, Lebanon. The scope of work includes:

1. Review of an energy audit and the building’s conditions
2. Engineering, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic system (minimum 50 kWp) with a battery back-up
3. 2 years of maintenance for the solar photovoltaic system

Tender procedure from invitation to tender until signing of contract is expected to take place between July 2024 and August 2024. Construction work is expected to be performed and completed approximately within 4 months from signing of contract.

To qualify for consideration in the tender procedure, interested companies are required to submit the following information and documents for eligibility assessment:

1. Official letter expressing interest
2. Company details including full company name, full address, phone and email
3. Annual total turnover for each of the last three (3) years
4. Copy of company registration certificate
5. Copy of company entry on LCEC list of qualified solar pv suppliers (2023)
6. Company profile including number of employees (permanent / temporary in total) as of 31.12.2023
7. Address of a warehouse in Lebanon with an inventory list from 2024
8. List of 20 solar PV installations with battery storage systems designed, installed, and commissioned by the tenderer. The minimum installed cumulative capacity of solar PV projects shall be equivalent to 500 kWp. Please, mention for each system the project size in kWp, the battery type and storage capacity in kWh, if Operations & Maintenance is provided for the system, the project location, the completion date and a recommendation/reference letter. Only projects with proof (recommendation/reference) will be considered. Assignments completed by the tenderer’s individual experts working privately or through other firms, partners, or sub-contractors cannot be claimed as relevant experience of the tenderer.
