Online Legal Show Video Producer

The Legal Agenda (LA) is seeking to commission a production house to pilot a new online legal show. The show will be researched and presented by one lawyer, in Arabic. The pilot episode will be of 15 minutes. Upon success of the pilot, the consultant will produce up to 6 more episodes per year.

Consultancy Period: Production of the Pilot episode: July 2022, production of remaining episodes by July 2023.

About Legal Agenda:

The Legal Agenda is a Beirut-based non-governmental non-profit organization, with a branch in Tunisia. The organization addresses issues of legal activism, reform, and transformation in the context of social and political change in the Arab world. Legal Agenda’s team composed of jurists, researchers, and journalists aim to lift the barriers between the law and society in the Arab region so that those in power no longer monopolize lawmaking, and instead ordinary citizens can understand the process, criticize it, and participate in it.

LA’s specialized and alternative media platforms publish the organization’s socio-legal analysis and comparative research, policy monitoring articles, and journalistic investigations on a daily basis. The organization also engages in strategic litigation and advocacy campaigning to advance socio-economic rights and liberties, particularly on issues that affect the environment, the rights and freedoms of women, refugees, workers, detainees, disabled people, and other vulnerable groups.

Given the specialized but wide scope of the organization, LA’s target audience includes Legal professionals, social actors, community of issue, political actors, media outlets, and the general audience.

Main Responsibilities:

In close a collaboration with the Legal Agenda team, the production house will be responsible of:

-   Developing the creative concept and storyboards for a new online legal show researched and presented by one lawyer, in Arabic, in close coordination with the content team, and based on the preliminary and exemplary script of the first episode provided by the content team to the production team; Upon the success of the pilot, the contract is extendable for additional four to six 15-minute episodes that will make up the show from August 2022 till July 2023;

- Taking full charge of the pre/post production operations, including and not restricted to location, props and equipment setting, filming, lighting, directing, art-directing, editing, coloring, sound designing, etc.

- Designing, for the pilot (and potentially future episodes), informative and compelling visuals and graphics reflecting the identity of the show, in addition to securing open-source relevant archive without infringing copyright (be it screenshots, raw footage, news, documents, videos or images) to accompany and enrich the filmed material of the presenter reciting the script;

-  Producing and exporting every filmed and edited episode in a format, resolution and size suitable for online dissemination across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, while making sure to integrate the graphic identity of the show (intro/outro, etc.);

- Developing the visual and graphic identity of the show, including the brand/logo, social media channel assets and templates including for posts, stories, videos and reels. 

Related skills and experience:

• Ability to work closely with Legal Agenda’s team and engage in back-and-forth discussions for finalizing the concept, the script, the story board, and the rest of the production
• Demonstrated experience in show production
• Experience in mixing live footage with creative design and animation
