Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Teacher Assistant
Job Scope: The ECCD Teacher-assistant-assistant will support the ECCD Teacher-assistant in providing children (from 3 to 6 years old) with activities designed to promote their social emotional, physical, cognitive and linguistic growth and prepare them for primary education. The responsibilities of the post will require the post holder to have regular contact with young children.
The ECCD Teacher Assistant will be receiving $4.6 / session
Location: Zahle
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teacher-assistant supports in encouraging participation of all children without discrimination, i.e. regardless of gender, ethnicity, language, culture, religion or learning ability.
- Teacher-assistant supports in ensuring that children feel comfortable, safe and respected.
- Teacher-assistant support in ensuring that the environment of the classroom promotes learning through the physical arrangements, and use of clear expectations, predictable procedures, and daily routines.
- Teacher-assistant teaches the national curriculum and uses SCI approaches.
- Teacher-assistant implements learning modules in Arabic and French/English which involve speaking, listening, writing, phonological awareness and reading.
- Teacher-assistant supports the teacher in organizing and leading the activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development of children, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, indoor and outdoor activities and field trips.
- Teacher-assistant supports in identifying children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and follows SCI safe and identification mechanism.
- Teacher-assistant supports in facilitating positive parenting sessions for caregivers and conducting monthly meetings with caregivers to follow up on students’ progress.
- Teacher-assistant complies with SCI policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Teacher-assistant demonstrates non-discriminatory working practices and encourages this in others.
- Teacher-assistant liaises with SCI staff on internal issues. This includes attendance at meetings organized by SCI and to cooperate with SCI’s monitoring, providing information or reports if requested.

Position Requirements:
Baccalaureate diploma
Bi-lingual fluency in Arabic and English/French
Minimum of 1 years of teaching experience with preference in early childhood teaching
