Key Responsibilities:

1. Needs assessment and adaptation:

  • Conduct initial assessments to understand participants’ psycho-social needs and tailor session content accordingly.
  • Continuously evaluate session effectiveness and adjust materials, activities, and topics to ensure maximum impact.

 

2. Session planning and Implementation:

  • Develop session plans that address participants’ psycho-social needs, covering stress management, coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience building.
  • Lead group and individual PSS sessions, creating a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere where participants feel safe sharing their experiences.
  • Adjust session activities and discussion points based on participants' responses and evolving needs.

 

3. Supportive engagement and active listening:

  • Provide empathetic support, encouragement, and active listening to participants during sessions.
  • Use techniques to build trust, encourage participation, and foster a sense of community and peer support among participants.
  • Identify participants needing additional support and refer them to relevant mental health professionals as appropriate.

 

4. Monitoring and reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of session attendance, topics covered, participant feedback, and any observed progress or challenges.
  • Prepare and submit session reports to supervisors, highlighting outcomes, insights, and recommendations for program improvement.
  • Ensure all records adhere to confidentiality and data protection standards.

 

5. Capacity building and skill development:

  • Teach participants practical tools and skills, such as relaxation techniques, problem-solving, and self-care practices.
  • Encourage participants to set goals, make personal growth plans, and apply learned techniques outside of sessions.

 

6. Community outreach and partnership building:

  • Engage in outreach activities to build awareness of services available for vulnerable populations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, local authorities, and service providers.

 

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Sociology.

 

Professional Experience: 

  • One to three years of experience in case management or social services, ideally with Lebanese communities.

 

Skill Set and Competencies: 

  • Effective facilitation and group management, culturally sensitive and adaptable.
  • Knowledge of needs assessment.
  • Committed to confidentiality.
  • Good listening and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Lebanese communities.​

 

Language Proficiency:

  • Arabic: Fluent
  • English: Fluent
  • French: Strong Asset.

 

Working Schedule: 3 days per week; from 08:00 AM till 04:00 PM

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract, 10 Months (Renewable based on funding and the need for position).

Location: Jisr El Wati, Sin El Fil, Beirut
