Community Engagement and Selection of Participants for Capacity Building
- Objective
The project aims to enhance agricultural sustainability in vulnerable communities using permaculture for climate resilience. It involves young people, runs community awareness campaigns, and utilizes permaculture techniques for effective water management. Additionally, it engages local stakeholders to tailor project technologies to their specific needs and conducts educational programs about climate change and sustainable farming.
Fair Trade Lebanon (FTL) is looking for an expert for Community Engagement and Selection of participants for capacity building.
- Scope of work
FTL team will engage with potential beneficiaries through various channels, including social media, and local municipalities, and will facilitate community meetings with key individuals and groups in the target villages and the surrounding region. FTL will be in charge of the outreach activity to receive applications for potential candidates to join the program. The outreach modality will be online and in person meeting to engage the community. The consultant will interact with potential beneficiaries through various channels and local municipalities. The consultant will attend the community engagement sessions with FTL. The consultant will finally revise the applications and suggest a list of minimum 75 potential candidate.
- Outcomes
The consultant will thoroughly assess potential participants through various channels and community meetings, online meetings and phone calls, selecting 75 participants for capacity building. This process will ensure a special focus on marginalized communities.

- To create the need assessment tool and the selection criteria
- To produce the needs assessment report with main findings
- To list potential candidates for capacity building
- Qualifications
- Higher university degree in social sciences, statistics, or any relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a consultant
- Experience using data analysis tools and software such as KOBO, SPSS, and others
- Extensive experience interacting with and relating to gender professionals and international stakeholders at senior level
- Able to synthesize large data sets to reach conclusions and strategic recommendations
- Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles
- In-depth knowledge of the Lebanese context
