Context & Background
Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics:
- A disruptive scientific or technological focus in the Clean-tech sector.
- The possibility to scale beyond the local market.
- The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally.
Scope of work
The Accelerator Program seeks a Pitching Trainer to develop and deliver a workshop about Body language and storytelling (in-person) for up to 8 startups in addition to one-on-one sessions.
The selected trainer will conduct two components:
- Advanced Pitching Workshop (Group Session):
This workshop will focus on elevating the startups' pitch delivery, helping them master the art of selling their brand effectively. It will move beyond the basics and focus on advanced strategies for a powerful, investor-ready pitch.
Key areas of the workshop:
- Tailoring the Pitch to the Audience
- Teaching startups how to customize their pitch for different types of investors or stakeholders.
- Crafting clear, concise messaging that highlights the startup’s value proposition, key traction points, and competitive advantage tailored to specific investor profiles.
- Selling the Brand, Not Just the Product
- Helping startups present themselves as leaders and their brand as a story, going beyond the features of their product or service, focusing on emotional storytelling.
- Mastering Confidence and Charisma in Pitching
- Training startups to project confidence through their body language, tone of voice, and overall presence.
- Techniques for managing stage fright, staying focused under pressure, and using composure to build credibility.
- Presenting Key Data Effectively
- Refining how startups present critical data points—market size, traction, financial projections, business model, and competitive landscape—in a concise and compelling way.
- Handling Investor Q&A with confidence
- Teaching techniques to respond confidently and effectively to tough questions during Q&A sessions.
- Creating an Engaging Narrative with Structure
- Perfecting the structure of their 3-minute pitch to ensure a clear, engaging, and well-paced flow from introduction to conclusion.
- Guiding startups on how to craft a narrative that captures attention early, builds momentum, and leaves a lasting impression on investors.
The workshop is expected to be interactive with exercises, role-playing and peer feedback.
- One-on-One Sessions:
In addition to the group workshop, the trainer will provide personalized One-on-One Sessions to help each startup fine-tune their unique pitch delivery, focusing on their specific needs (up to 4 sessions per startup).
Key areas to cover in the one-on-one sessions:
- Refining the 3-Minute Pitch with Visual Aid
- Helping startups structure their pitch narratives for clarity and maximum impact, ensuring they cover key data points such as market size, traction, financial projections, business model, and competitive analysis.
- Elevator Pitch Enhancement
- Enhance the existing elevator pitch of the startups, ensuring it’s concise and persuasive (60-second elevator pitch without visual aid).
- Personalized Feedback on Presentation Style
- Offering tailored guidance on body language, gestures, tone, and message delivery.
- Q&A Management
- Training entrepreneurs on how to handle post-pitch Q&A sessions with confidence.
Expected Deliverables
- Deliver a full day Body Language and storytelling workshop (In-person).
- One finalized a 3-minute pitch deck for each startup to be ready by end of component (up to 8 pitch decks).
- One elevator pitch for each startup to be ready by the end of component (up to 8 elevator pitches).
- Deliver 4 one-on-one sessions for up to 8 startups (up to 32 sessions in total). The duration of each session is 1 hour.
- Feedback on every startup by the end of every one-on-one session.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Pitching and Startup pitch training.
- Knowledge in business development is a plus
- Understanding of the startup ecosystem, including funding stages and investor expectations.
- Experience in delivering presentations and workshops, ideally in a training or coaching capacity.
- Demonstratable knowledge of the various fields related to pitching including but not limited to: Body Language, Public Speaking, Negotiation Skills, Graphic Design…
- Flexibility to adapt training methods to different startup stages and industries.
