BACKGROUND
The Field Facilitator will work under the project “SWaM - Supporting Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Jord El Qaytaa – Akkar” funded by the EU and implemented by COOPI in partnership with the Union of Municipalities in Jord El Qaytaa, COSPE, Studio Azue and Mada Association. Under this project, Mada is mainly responsible for community mobilization and awareness raising around solid waste.
JOB SUMMARY
The Field Facilitator will be responsible for implementing solid waste management awareness campaigns in the villages within the Union of Municipalities of Jord El Qaytaa.
The Field Facilitator will mainly operate directly from one of the targeted villages in the field, but may also be asked to operate from Mada's Tripoli office for a few days when requested by Mada. The Field Facilitator will report directly to Mada’s Community Mobilizers.
The Field Facilitator will be responsible for adhering to the daily targets set by the Community Mobilizers for the different activities in the awareness campaign.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Activity Implementation
- Attend capacity-building trainings on solid waste management to effectively conduct field activities.
- Organize and conduct awareness sessions on solid waste management through door-to-door households visits.
- Assist the project team in the preparation phase by reaching out the households, encouraging them to attend the awareness sessions, and plan the dates, times, and locations for these sessions to ensure they are accessible and convenient for the households.
- Raise community awareness by being present at information points, which will be set up in streets, public locations, schools, and other relevant locations on specific days.
- Distribute informational materials, such as flyers, posters, and other items during awareness campaigns.
- Assist in distributing bins at both the household and community levels.
- Collaborate with local authorities, communities, and the project team to ensure smooth activity implementation.
- Support the project team in planning, preparing and conducting activities focused on solid waste management in schools and community.
- Assist in managing the execution of public discussions and events in the communities ensuring the distribution of essential information and materials.
- Collect data from the field as needed to feed into project reports.
- Data entry of collected data from the field.
- Ensure proper filing and archiving of all project documents, including clean and clear hard and soft copies of attendance sheets for various awareness activities.
- Submit daily, and weekly reports to the Community Mobilizer on field implementation, challenges, progress, lessons learned, etc.
- Actively participate in team meetings to discuss challenges, mitigations, and share learnings.
- Report any issues/ incidents in the field requiring immediate attention for direct action.
- Follow up on all logistic needed for the required tasks.
- Collect success stories from the field and ensure project visibility (Mada’s and donor’s).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Highschool diploma.
- Previous experience working with CBOs, with NGOs is a plus.
- Experience working in awareness raising.
- Good communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with local stakeholders, ensuring high-quality awareness sessions.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic. Good level of written and spoken English.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and tight deadlines.
- Ability to be present on field on a regular basis.
- Availability to work at least 15 days per month during working days.
- Experience working in Akkar is mandatory.
- Mandatory: Must be a resident of one of the following villages within the Union of Municipalities of Jord El Qaytaa: Beit Ayob , Beit Younes , Chane , Fnaidek, Houaich , Hrar, Kheirbet Akkar, Mechmech, Qornet Akkar or Qrayat.
TIMEFRAME /DURATION
The Field Facilitator is expected to start in November or December 2024, for a period ranging from one month to 3 months (based on need) with an estimation of 15 working days per month.
The number of months and working days may increase based on needs, with such adjustments to be made through mutual agreement between Mada and the Field Facilitator.
