The Case Worker will be responsible for providing direct support to beneficiaries within the SHIELD 6 project. Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Case Worker will conduct validation assessments and offer assistance in the areas of food security, WASH, health, and protection services. This role involves comprehensive case management, including documentation, assessment, service provision, and referrals, to ensure beneficiaries receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management: Identify and manage individual cases by conducting thorough documentation, assessments, developing action plans, and providing direct services, referrals, and follow-ups for an assigned caseload.

Safe Space Recommendations: Ensure that spaces used for case management are safe and appropriate, making necessary recommendations for improvements.

Emotional Support: Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases, ensuring immediate needs are addressed.

Psychosocial Assessment: Conduct detailed psychosocial assessments of vulnerable individuals, considering environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors, as well as available resources and strengths that impact overall well-being.

Case Planning: Prepare accurate and detailed case plans for high-risk cases, with clear outcomes and timelines. Monitor and follow up on the results of the assistance provided.

Coordination & Referrals: Work closely with the Supervisor and Coordinator to coordinate with other service providers in the intervention area, ensuring prompt referrals, follow-ups, and efficient information sharing.

Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of beneficiaries with institutions and service providers to facilitate access to necessary resources and services.

Documentation & Reporting: Manage, fill, and archive case profiles, referrals, and monthly reports. Ensure that all documentation is handled with confidentiality, accuracy, and completed in a timely manner.

Adherence to Principles: Act at all times in accordance with the guiding principles of CP case management, maintaining accountability, professional boundaries, and avoiding conflicts of interest.

Meetings & Training: Participate in meetings and training sessions both within and outside the center, including case management meetings, case conferences, and any other required meetings.

Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Social Science, Pedagogy, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in case management, preferably with experience in working with children and organizing activities.

NGO Experience: Experience working in an NGO and in a cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of protection principles and case management best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and external partners.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.

Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the code of conduct, that enshrines the principles of PSEA, always (Both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
