The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking to recruit a “Community Mobilizer” for “Upscaling Shelter, Food Security, Protection, and GBV services to extremely vulnerable individuals in North-Lebanon and Akkar” Project  supported by OCHA Lebanon through Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF).

The Community Mobilizer leads all outreach, risk mitigation and community mobilization efforts as part of the Team. Core activities include dissemination of information, assessment of risks faced by people of concern in the targeted communities and development of response strategies, capacity building of community members.

Major Responsibilities: 

• Identify and assess communities to be targeted;
• Conduct information and awareness sessions with people of concern in the community to disseminate information about available services;
• Identify community focal points amongst the refugee and host communities and maintain regular contact with them to ensure a constant flow of information and feedback;
• Gather community-level feedback and share information with the Project Coordinator;
• Develop capacity building plans for community focal points to provide them with critical skills around safety assessment, advocacy, communication and leadership;
• Organize and co-facilitate trainings of community focal points;
• Conduct regular safety assessments and community mapping exercises to identify key risks faced by targeted populations within their community;
• Facilitate referral of identified needs to humanitarian organizations and other service providers, ensuring follow up and feedback to the community;
• Regularly document outreach and community mobilization activities using agreed tools to highlight key protection and safety concerns; and
• Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management, and reporting requirements are followed.

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrate determination, focus and dedication to seeing through complex and time- consuming processes.
• Excellent critical thinking skills when assessing approaches to advocating for services.
• University degree in psychology, social work, human rights, or related degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in working in community mobilizing.
• Demonstrate understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
• Personal qualities: Great teammate, flexible, solutions-oriented, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
