Coaches Enhancing Energy Efficiency and Business Management Practices for 25 MSMEs in Southern Baalbeck and Hasbaya.

About the Program:  

LLWB, in partnership with GIZ, is conducting a program entitled “EBDA3” “Energy Efficiency for business women and digitalization awareness”, aiming to provide comprehensive support in specific energy and business developments topics to 25 women-led MSMEs in two regions: Southern Baalbek and Hasbaya, Lebanon.  

This program catalyzes the efforts of LLWB and its strong commitment in implementing the SDGs. First this program aims to ensure access to reliable, affordable and clean energy solutions for MSMEs that are localized in 2 regions of Lebanon, as it has a specific goal which is the energy sufficiency for women led businesses and entrepreneurs. In this regard in 2024, LLWB has in a first phase performed a needs assessment of the energy needs and capacities of each of the MSMEs of these regions. 

Based on it, trainings on energy efficiency tailored to the needs to each MSMEs were performed during the months of July and August 2024.  

This program has secondly a clear goal of promoting sustainable business solutions for MSMEs in time of crises, for them to be able to scale up their work, stay productive and resilient and sustain in regions that are unstable and unsafe due to the political instability. 

Gender equality is mainstreamed in this project as it empowers women in their communities and make them more self-sufficient and push them to be breadwinners.  

 

 Based on the needs assessment performed, and on the training sessions tailored for each MSMEs, each MSME has now a clear business development plan, and energy suffiency plan developed and LLWB is looking now to recruit a coach to mentor these MSMe to ensure that this Energy efficiency plan and the interventions it has developed with each MSME are implemented correctly. 

Scope of coaching:  

LLWB is calling for: 

  • One coach to conduct (in presence) coaching sessions that aim to provide technical assistance to address energy-related challenges faced by 25 MSMEs located in Hasbaya and Southern Baalbeck. Emphasize that the coaching will focus on enhancing the Women-led Businesses knowledge of energy-efficient practices and sustainable technologies. 
     
  •  Specific tasks include:  
  • Delivering one on one coaching sessions on energy-efficient practices, sustainable technologies, 
  • Each session is of 3 hours duration at least in presence. 
  • In presence in Hasbaya and in Southern Baalback tailored one to one coaching session for the 25 MSMEs 
  • The Coach will monitor and ensure of the implementation and finalization of the developed energy sufficiency report and recommendations, the coach to develop these recommendations.  
  • Check- on the trainings related to energy developed and the coach to closely follow up on the implementation of the low-cost energy efficiency measures, such as using energy-efficient electricity,  waste management, low cost – energy efficiency in product creation and ideation. Working on the development of the Energy efficiency Strategies report with clear recommendations.  
  • The coach in energy efficiency to define in a clear report addressed to PM and ED of LLWB, the in-kind support needed for energy efficiency for each MSMEs.

Timeline:  
The assignment is expected to take place during the months of September and October 2024 (in person sessions).  

 

Qualifications:  

  • The ideal candidate should possess:  
  • Proven experience in Energy efficiency coaching.  
  • Strong background in Energy efficiency practices.  
  • Excellent public speaking abilities.  
  • Great Arabic speaking skills. 
  • Strong experience in working on monitoring evaluating and coaching MSMEs in peripheral regions of Lebanon.  
  • Deliverables:  
  • Individual coaching sessions on energy efficiency conducted for each MSME and each session report and pictures to be sent to LLWB Project Manager and Executive Director. 
  • Provide technical assistance to address energy-related challenges for each MSME. 
  • Reporting: submit the progress report for each MSMEs, as well as a final report summarizing the outcomes, highlighting the in-kind support and impact of the coaching phase. 
  • Prepare a pitching presentation for each MSMEs with clear identification of the in kind support in Energy efficiency for each MSMEs.

  • An updated CV with at least 2 references and CV needs to showcase coaching expertise of applicant in selected topic (in PDF). 
  • A cover letter outlining relevant experience and qualifications. In PDF 
  • A financial proposal including the daily rate per session in USD dollars for developing the above-mentioned deliverables, (mainly 25 coaching sessions Hybrid in Hasbaya and southern Baalbeck, and final report to LLWB) in PDF. Title of Document should be Financial Proposal for 25 sessions of coaching on Energy efficiency practices in Hasbaya and Southern Baalbeck. 
  • Copy of passports or IDs and Lebanese financial registration documents.  Note: Deadline for applications is      22 of August 2024 , Noon time (Lebanon time).

Consultancy fees budget allocation: 7500$ all inclusive, covering transportation, communication, taxes of consultancy.  Failing to provide these documents will lead to a deduction of the withholding tax (8.5%) as per the Lebanese Law.
