1. About us:

Liqaa has come together because of our collective interest in our community. We wish to improve the lives of people and businesses in the neighborhood and take care of our public spaces, especially the Jesuit Public Garden, one of the few green spaces in Beirut. We hope the Geitawi community can reconnect to nature, connect to each other and feel a sense of ownership over public spaces. The governance of Liqaa is collaborative and participatory and is structured so community members can conceive and lead a variety of activities. This grassroots local initiative is nonpolitical and non-sectarian, open to any community member, regardless of gender, ethnicity, political affiliation or religion.

  1. Purpose:

Liqaa is searching for a Graphic designer to support the communication for the current ongoing activities.

Activities are:

  • GEITAWI TOUR

This is a neighborhood tour (under the umbrella of Brasilia Travel) led by a tour guide from the neighborhood. It will highlight green spaces (especially the Jesuit Garden), local businesses (focusing on older businesses or ones that have handmade products, and area landmarks. It will focus on the collective history of the neighborhood through different voices.

Key words: Stories from Geitawi, green spaces, community, cultural heritage preservation, local food delicacies, crafts and artisanal products

 

Designer brief and items to quote:

 

  • Create a brochure for the tour including a map of local businesses/ landmarks, info about Liqaa and Liqaa activities
  • Create a poster for the tour (adapt to social media sizes)
  • Collect printing quotes and follow printing

 

  • GARDEN MARKET

Our second Garden Market focuses on small and micro businesses from the neighborhood with unique and handmade products will launch with fete de la musique on June 21, 22, 23. There will be food, activities that focus on arts and eco-sustainability, Lebanese products, local music groups….
