Senior Project Manager - Rigorous Impact Evaluation (contingent upon funding confirmation)

Responsibilities:

• Lead all project aspects, including strategic direction, content and concept preparation, stakeholder meetings, logistics and finance oversight, and planning.
• Support the Head of Office in coordinating and implementing all Lebanon-related project activities, emphasizing the integration of research methodologies.
• Liaise and build relationships with Lebanese stakeholders and international partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Conduct comprehensive background research, provide sound analysis, and contribute to the development of project publications and training materials.
• Ensure proper documentation of activities and take responsibility for project reporting, including donor reports, workshop, and activity reports, with a focus on research-related outcomes.
• Backstop the team in finance and activity coordination, resource planning, administrative management, and logistics oversight.
• Collaborate closely with the finance department to prepare budget narratives, extensions, and monitor overall spending, with a specific emphasis on research-related expenses.
• Develop new project ideas and concept notes, contributing to fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Representative.
• Cooperate closely with Berghof Foundation Lebanon and MENA teams, as well as Berlin-based staff members, ensuring alignment of research objectives.
• Perform additional tasks upon the request of the Representative, with a focus on the technical aspects of the research project.
• Provide support with co-facilitation related to the project, leveraging research expertise.

Your knowledge, experience & skills:

• Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or similar, with a strong emphasis on research methodologies.
• Have more than 7 years of relevant work experience in project management, specifically in monitoring and evaluation and research-intensive projects.
• Possess more than 7 years of relevant experience working with municipalities, local development, and social cohesion projects within a larger team in Lebanon.
• Contribute expertise and regional experience on Lebanon and the Middle East, with a focus on research-related challenges and opportunities.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written language skills in Arabic and English.
• Exhibit professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) to support research and project management activities.
