Gender Expert for Developing Gender Action Plans

Context & Background

LLWB has launched the project ‘Supporting Women on Board of Syndicates, Universities, and Board of Organizations’, in partnership with the British Embassy. The aim of the project is to address the challenges of women participation in decision-making positions and to facilitate and increase female representation on the boards of different organizations across Lebanon. 

The selected organizations to this project must commit to the women on board plan suggested by the drafted law by LLWB to reach 30% women on board by 2030. The Women on Board draft law includes the following articles: within a year to have at least 1 woman on board, after 3 years to increase to 10% and gradually reach 30% by 2030. If the commitment plan was not fulfilled, the organizations must refund the Certified Corporate Director Program fees that were covered for the individuals from their entity.

Scope of work

LLWB is looking an individual consultant with gender expertise to work with each organization located in Beirut, Tripoli and Bekaa on developing a gender action plan: 

This plan will include a commitment plan for the organizations to support women in decision-making and how this will be implemented to gradually reach 30% of women on board by 2030.

Expected Deliverables

• Conduct in-person sessions with  each entity 
• 4 gender action plans developed, 1 plan per entity including commitment to support women in decision making positions within their organizations.

Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent  in Gender studies, anthropology or law.
• Min 7 years of working in the field of gender issues , including monitoring and evaluation, gender mainstreaming, and strategic planning.
• Excellent command of writing in English.
