Job Summary

Responsible for providing conflict sensitivity training for local groups from different areas in North Lebanon & Akkar governorates under the Mechanism for Stability and Local Development project.

  • Peace-building Program Manager
  • Peace-building Program Coordinator

Experience and Needed Skills

  • A bachelor's degree in social or political science and conflict resolution, peacebuilding, mediation, or a similar diplomas/courses are a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in conflict sensitivity training and conflict analysis.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering training programs related to conflict sensitivity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A deep understanding of the social and economic context of North Lebanon and Akkar governorates.
  • Demonstrated experience working with local groups or community-based organizations in conflict-prone areas.

 

Responsibilities And Obligations:

  • Training Development: Design a one-day training program that introduces the principles of conflict sensitivity, the importance of conflict analysis, and practical strategies for integrating conflict-sensitive approaches into local initiatives.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate the one-day training session for local group members, ensuring they gain a foundational understanding of conflict sensitivity and its application.
  • Conflict Analysis: Provide an overview of conflict analysis techniques, helping participants identify potential conflicts in their work.
  • Mitigation Strategies: Offer practical tools and strategies for conflict mitigation and resolution to enhance the effectiveness of local initiatives.
  • Participatory Learning: Create an interactive learning environment, incorporating case studies and group activities to encourage active participation and knowledge retention.
  • Feedback and Questions: Encourage open discussion, address questions, and provide feedback to clarify concepts and ensure a thorough understanding of conflict sensitivity principles.
  • Preparing a detailed final report on the training outcomes and providing recommendations for ongoing support.

The Consultant should submit a detailed proposal with the following components:

a) Technical proposal to include:

•Outline for the Consultants’ understanding of the TOR and the proposed methodology to conduct the assignment, including techniques and tools to be used;

•A timeframe for the proposed activities

•Copy of the CV;

•List of previous clients for similar jobs;

•Copy of ID or passport

b) Financial proposal detailing the following:

•Detailed consultant’s fees and costs - consultant should indicate professional daily rate or sessions rate including all costs to be invoiced

•Provide proof of Ministry of Finance registration (Fiscal number)

In case the consultant cannot provide proof of MOF registration, 7.5% will be deducted from the proposed daily rate.
