Project Manager- Peace Labs

Position Title: Project Manager
Duration: 10 months (with possibile contract extension)
Starting date: As soon as possible
Reporting to: Executive Director / Board
Location of assignment: Home-based with infrequent field visits
Level of effort: Full time

Project location: Beqaa-Lebanon

Brief about the project: Peace Labs is conducting technical conflict research on Water-Instability in both the Beqaa and the Baalbeck-Hermel Governorates, in addition to providing a lead international development agency with advisory services on conflict-sensitive programming, dialogue facilitation and knowledge production on the aforementioned topic/sector. Actors involved are the Beqaa Water Establishment (BWE) Municipalities, Unions of Municipalities, Mukhtars, Local NGOs, Local Development Committees, Youth and Women groups.

Qualification and Skills:
- A degree in the field of Business Administration, Social Sciences, Political Science, or Conflict studies
- At least 5 years of Projects Coordination experience
- Advanced understanding of the Lebanese Context and the Beqaa region in specific
- Highly communicative and fluent in Arabic and in English both orally and in writing
- Culturally sensitive with a high level of understanding of social etiquette in different social and professional environments

EXPECTED TASKS - Administration and Finance:
- Interviewing and Contracting consultants for the project.
- Preparing contracts (scope of work, payment methods, etc.) supported by our legal advisor.
- Oversee and manage the budget with support from finance officer.
- Prepare Financial reports with support from finance officer.
- Issue payment orders.
- Ensure proper procurement processes and policies are observed and implemented on the project as per donor’s and Peace Labs requirements.
- Manage the project cash flow.

EXPECTED TASKS - Management:
- Keep the project on track and ensuring high quality implementation
- Manage the team and remind team members of their responsibilities, deliverables and their deadlines.
- Attend to any changes / adjustment needed by the project within the approved budget
- Foresee trouble / challenges or conflicts and raise any issues before hand
- Assess Risks and Bring Forth any concerns regarding planning, localities, stakeholders, context, safety and security, etc. and devise mitigation plan to address them,
- Consult and Meet periodically with relevant internal, external stakeholders and partners
- Conduct periodic field visits in the Beqaa and Baalbeck-Hermel area,
- Ensure all deliverables are compliant with donor’s requirements and signed contract,
- Review and approve all deliverables to ensure Peace Labs quality standards are met.

EXPECTED TASKS - Reporting and Learning: 
- Communicate with the donor on periodic basis informing them about project progress and any challenges.
- Communicate with donor any variations related to the budget and propose and discuss adequate amendments to better serve the interest of the project, the community and the donor.
- Write interim (progress reports) reports and final reports.
- Oversee the preparation of the financial reports and all corroborating documents as per donor’s requirements.
- Submit the reports in due time.
- Follow up with donor regarding reports and incorporate their feedback into the final versions of reports
- Draw lessons learned from project and compile them into a report.

- Channel proper Communication content to communication team.
- Provide the project with adequate visibility.
