Promotion of decent work and sustainable business development in Bekaa, Lebanon

2 Video productions

ToR – Videographer – July 2022

Description

With the support of the European Regional Development and Protection Programme for Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq (RDPP II), Oxfam and its partners Legal Agenda (LA) and Lebanese Observatory for Workers and Employees’ Rights (LOWER) are implementing a project entitled “Promotion of decent work and sustainable business development in Bekaa, Lebanon.” The overarching objective of the project is to contribute to a decent and economically sustainable business environment for displacement-affected populations in the Bekaa by strengthening the linkage between the local civil society, the business development service (BDS) providers, and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Bekaa.

As such, Oxfam and the My Work, My Rights network capacitated around 20 business development professionals to mainstream decent work in their tools and materials, and worked with 3 BDS firms to deliver technical business support to 75 MSMEs in the Bekaa to sustain and/or grow the businesses and the jobs they provide within improved decent working conditions. 31 MSMEs were selected with sustainability and growth prospects and demonstrated commitment to improving working conditions.

As part of this project, Oxfam in Lebanon is hiring a videographer to produce 2 videos that capture the impact, approach, and work done by Oxfam in Lebanon and partners on decent work in Lebanon.

In the first video, 5 MSMEs will be filmed, highlighting the success stories from Oxfam and partners’ support.

The second video will focus on the coordination mechanisms needed to foster solidarity economies in Lebanon under decent work, through clustering supported MSMEs, and networking, in collaboration with Daleel Tadamon.

Objective

Oxfam is looking to

  • Produce and edit 2 videos, with a duration of around 5-6 minutes each, that focus respectively on:

Video 1: interviews around success stories with 5 selected MSMEs/employers/employees, led by Oxfam, in collaboration with the My Work, My Rights! Network, and how the project supported them directly (employers and employees) in terms of sustainability/growth and improving decent working conditions.

Video 2: with Daleel Tadamon on fostering solidarity economies, sustainable economic development and growth, and democratic economy, by showcasing the work done to popularize the functions/features of the website and the ongoing participatory discussion that will be taking place in Bekaa.

The purpose is to:

Reach a wider audience and increase the visibility of the project through disseminating to Oxfam’s donors, partners, BDS organizations and professionals, MSMEs, supporters (public audience, local civil society organizations, international NGOs, etc.), people interested in labor rights, the Lebanese Ministry of Labor, organizations and individuals in Lebanon working on decent work conditions, interested MSMEs, etc. We will be reaching them by disseminating through email announcements, through social media posts on our LinkedIn and Facebook pages, as well as through our partners’ mailing lists and social media platforms. The proposed activity falls under this project’s communication and visibility component. The idea is to highlight the impact of the activities done on mainstreaming decent work conditions through the production and the dissemination of the two videos.
