OUTREACH OFFICER

JOB OVERVIEw

SHiFT-Social innovation hub is implementing a project on protection mainstreaming for most vulnerable children in Tripoli, in partnership with UNICEF Lebanon-child protection sector. Activities will take place in 4 community centers in the areas of Jabal Mehsen, Tebbaneh, Mankoubine and Kobbeh but will target children and their caregivers from designated areas and surroudings including Amerken, Bekkar, Riva and Mashrou3 el hariri, wadi el nahle, jabal el beddawi… This intervention aims at supporting hard to reach children (including category of invisibles especially women, adolescent girls, and disabled.)  to get back on track, sensitize them on their rights and link them with available services upon their needs to prevent them from getting involved in grave violations. This program is put together following community-based approach according to IASC minimum standards and DO NO HARM principle, all based on a survivor centered approach. This intervention will tackle various perspectives from the children’s daily lives through a set of interactive activities, including but not limited to environmental sensitization, sports for development, community theater, community-based PSS… and more. Activities will be designed in accordance with QUDWA strategy. SHiFT is currently seeking the expertise of Outreach officer to put together outreach data, verify vulnerability criteria, conduct service mapping, safety audits and prioritize area of intervention.  

Outreach officer will work in close coordination with Project officer and report to project manager. Outreach Officer will be responsible to follow up on and ensure efficiency, proficiency, transparency, and quality service provision.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• The outreach officer is responsible to follow up with team of mobilizers, provide direct support to project team, Identify and assess new communities to be
• Maintain regular contact with community focal points to ensure a constant flow of information and feedback
• Identify and engage key “gatekeepers” within the community to ensure access of SHiFT teams and promote participation of the community in activities
• Identify communities with psychosocial needs and make recommendations for the provision of psychosocial activities in priority locations
• Disseminate information at the community level about the purpose and importance of psychosocial activities and support for women and adolescent girls
• Collects and shares data for internal reporting and relevant working groups on activities, ongoing trends, highlights, and challenges.
• Ensure adherence to internal rules and regulations and specially PSEA and child safeguarding measures.

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian work
• Experienced in quantitative and qualitative data collection and implementation of participatory assessment and community-based approach.
• Good contextual knowledge of Lebanon overall and Tripoli specifically.
• Familiarity with technologies for data collection.
• Critical thinking and analysis competencies
• Create and maintain a strong filing System
• Efficient, transparent, and professional.

Preferred

• Experience in providing trainings and capacity strengthening’s programmes.
• Experience working in protection, including knowledge in GBV, CPSIR and PSEA
• Ability to adapt and be capable to deal with difficult security conditions
• Fluent in Arabic and good writing skills in English
• Capacity to work in small teams and flexibility to take on new tasks.
• Cultural sensitivity
• Basic ability to communicate in English is an added value.
• INGO or NGO experience is a must
• Knowledge about PSEA and Child safeguarding
• Familiar with the feedback and complaint mechanism
