Call For Fundraising Consultant

A short description about SSSE:  
 
The Society for Social Support and Education (SSSE) #1503 was founded in Beirut, Lebanon in August 2019 to provide a wide range of services to Syrian refugees with special focus on educational initiatives that are designed to brighten the minds, careers and futures of school-age children. Prior to 2019, and precisely starting in 2011 as Syrian refugees began pouring into Lebanon, SSSE succeeded in establishing several schools and recruiting many students as well as generating funds for humanitarian relief. 
 

SSSE is seeking the services of a Fundraising Consultant for redesigning SSSE’s fundraising strategy; including maintaining existing initiatives, creating a communication and fundraising plan in alignment with the organization overall strategy and approved budget.  

The main purpose of this consultancy is to: 

Help create fundraising plans. 

Meet defined fundraising targets, objectives and aspirations. 

Provide independent advice and support in developing strategic and operational plans. 

Explore and develop strategies for the long-term sustainability of the organization. 

Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations) 

Help in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission. 

Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization. 

Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization. 

Manage supplemental materials and annexes required for grant proposals. 

Identify information gaps blocking proposal completion and secure the necessary information to complete. 

Train and motivate fundraising officers, program managers and other key stakeholders in all aspects of fundraising. 

The consultant will be working closely with the fundraising and visibility officer and project manager at SSSE throughout the duration of the consultancy. 

Deliverables: 

Develop a new fundraising strategy to secure funding for the time after projects end  

Meet fundraising targets as indicated by the SSSE team 

Advise on how to search for new donors and follow up with them 

Maintain a healthy relationship with the existing donors 

Design a communication plan for the corporate fundraising strategy 

Timeline of the Consultancy: 

The total duration of the consultancy is over a period of 3 months (working days will be assigned based on the proposals received), starting in March and ending in June 2022 

Desired Qualifications and Required Competencies:  

Master's degree in Communications/Marketing preferred. 

More than five 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising and grants acquisition.  

Proven record of successfully managing similar consultancies with NGOs/INGOs.  

Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic – French is a plus 

Strong skills in writing and editing. 

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels. 

Solid understanding of standard corporate proposal formats and templates. 

Must be highly organized with proven skills managing and tracking assignments and deadlines. 

Ability to edit or rewrite sections of proposals to ensure readability and adherence to win themes 

Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment on multiple priority projects 

Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including community based organizations, local NGOs, local government and officials, donors, and colleagues;
