JOB OVERVIEw

SHiFT social innovation hub is implementing a child protection project in partnership with UNICEF in the areas of Jabal Mehsen, Tebbaneh, Kobbeh and surroudings including Amerken, Bekkar, Riva and Mashrou3 el hariri, mankoubin, and wadi el nahle to ensure protection mainstreaming for most vulnerable children in Tripoli. Having to deal with extremely vulnerable hard to reach adolescent boys and girls and going over their stories of deprivation in addition to undergoing imminent protection risk, overwhelmed our team (front liners and management) and increased their chances of burnout, especially with the limited available resources leaving tying their hands and prohibiting them from providing their beneficiaries with all needed support.   Thus, we seek the expertise of a psychotherapist to provide the child protection team with in person and online group and individual selfcare sessions. selfcare plan should be designed following an induction session with all team members to ensure it fits their needs.

Psychotherapist shall work in close coordination with project manager and executive director if needed to identify the needs of each of the team members and plan support accordingly. Psychotherapist is encouraged to utilize forum art for extracurricular/interactive sessions. Psychotherapist/Selfcare specialist is expected to:

• Conduct an initial meeting with entire team members to assess their situation, identify their needs and provide supporting plan accordingly.
• Utilize facilitation skills methods for ice breaking purposes.
• Establish credibility with all team members to build an efficient rapport.
• Adhere to SHiFT internal rules and regulations.
• Conduct individual follow up session if need arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Create a safe space for project team to unleash stress and request support as needed.
• Work in compliance with the standard operating procedures and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Provide management team with recommendations as deemed necessary.
•  Assist the project team in identifying vulnerable communities and areas where high density of out of school and hard to reach adolescent boys and girls exist to support them further in the process.
• Review project activities, target, achieved outcome with respective project team to identify challenges and potential alternatives to overcome those challenges.
• Be available for individual consultations if and when needed.
• Adhere to interagency rules and regulations
• Provide continuous and timely feedback to upper management
• Disclose malpractices if any
• provide an appraisal and recommendation follow up plan upon completion.

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

• Degree in Psychology or related matters with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
• Good knowledge of the line of work and various programs and vulnerabilities.
• Ability to engage with team members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.
• Positive and professional attitude, and good organization skills.
• Strong Ability to handle pressure and sensitive incidents.
• Flexibility in implementation modality according to the prevailing situation.
• Fluency in Arabic required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Efficiency, integrity and flexibility required at all times.
• Critical thinking and analysis competencies.
• Computer literacy.

Preferred

• Basic ability to communicate in English is an added value.
• INGO or NGO experience.
• Experience working with refugee population.
• Skilled at using basic computer programs – Microsoft Word and Excel.
