As a Case Manager at the Guardians of Equality Movement (GEM), you will be at the forefront of supporting Syrian LGBTQIA+ individuals facing discrimination and abuse. Your primary responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing individualized service plans, and connecting beneficiaries with essential services, such as medical care and security grants. You will collaborate with partner organizations, refer clients to appropriate services, and provide follow-up to ensure successful outcomes.

Additionally, you will update program trackers, write weekly reports, and coordinate with other GEM departments to align service plans with overall organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of humanitarian experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role, and be proficient in Arabic and English. A strong commitment to equality, a high sensitivity to trauma, and excellent organizational and communication skills are essential. Implementation of Program and Requirements 

Major Responsibilities: 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled case manager to join our team. As a case manager, you will be responsible for the following: 

Conducting intake assessments and developing individualized service plans for the beneficiaries under the guidance of the senior protection officer. 

Collaborating with partner organizations to connect LGBTQA+ individuals and families with essential services, such as medical care, substance abuse and torture treatment, and urgent security grants. 

Refer clients based on the service map to other organizations as needed and follow up on their progress. 

Updating program trackers weekly to ensure all cases are progressing as planned. 

Drafting weekly report for the senior protection officer. 

Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all service plans are on track. 

Aiding beneficiaries in filling out application forms for services offered by other organizations.

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree level education, psychologist or MHPSS specialist preferred. 

Further qualifications/completed training in humanitarian, gender, sex, human rights, mental health, or diversity inclusion will be considered an advantage for this role. 


Desirable: 

Experience with urgent security grants for human rights defenders 

Experience working in the Syrian Context 

Knowledge of LGBTQIA+ Issues 

Experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals /communities 

Experience working with torture/trauma survivors 

Understanding urgent security and protection needs 

Experience working with partners and referral teams 

Service provision development experience 

MEAL experience 

High sensitivity to the trauma 

High sensitivity for data protection and privacy 

Syrian LGBTQIA+ are strongly encouraged to apply.  


Professional experience 

A minimum of 4 years of experience working in the humanitarian industry 

A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role 

Proven experience in reporting 

Knowledge of donor mechanisms; knowledge of donor compliance is an advantage 


Languages 

Required: Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written) 


Technical Skills and Personal Attributes 

High standard of English writing and editorial skills 

Proficient in the use of MS Office and IT in general 

A self-starter, be able to work autonomously using own initiative.
