External Audit

1. Background:

The Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality (AFE) is an officially registered nongovernmental organization based in Beirut, Lebanon, which focuses its efforts exclusively on Arab states across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

AFE supports grassroots activist groups and organizations (Regional Partners) that are working on a wide range of initiatives including human rights, gender and sexual and sexual health. AFE provides a comprehensive package of opportunities for Regional Partners.

The Mission of the foundation is to encourage and support body, gender and sexual rights activists in the Middle East and North Africa in their work by building their capacities, funding the activists to organize and providing emergency support to activists when needed.

Our vision is to have a civil society that is strong, independent of political and financial pressures, free to conduct its work on equality, freedoms, and human rights in a safe environment.  Building a society with a strong sense of citizenship and belonging that does not discriminate in its fight for its people’s rights, for change, and not afraid to make the changes.

1. Purpose and mission

The purpose of this engagement is to set out the basis on which the audit company is to provide organizational and projects audit services for “Arab Foundation For Freedom and Equality” for the year 2021.

External Audit is the audit of the organization’s financial records in which the external auditors perform out the task of examining the validity of the company’s financial records to evaluate whether there is any mistake in the records due to fraud, error, or embezzlement.

• Management Lettre Points on internal control
• Annual Audit report to be submitted to the management of the organization in English

1. Qualifications and Experience. 

License: Licensed in Lebanon, Certified auditor who is registered with a recognized institute of registered public auditors

Relevant experience: Should have NGO portfolio

Years of experience: More than 5 years

Relevant degrees/certifications of staff: Preferable to be LACPA or CPA holder

Language requirements: English and Arabic
