Following the Beirut port explosion, the Lebanese society is in ruins. The explosion has only added to the crises faced by the Lebanese society, but mainly the port did not only destroy concrete and steel, it shattered an already fragile social fabric and reignited old hatred and fear of different other.

From the strong faith in youth and civil society, FDCD alongside its partner DanMission, saw that a very important component in restoring the torn and tattered social fabric is our right and duty to participate in public affairs and be part of the monitoring, and reform process.

FDCD will offer one thematic workshop on the importance of participation in public affairs, human rights and leadership plus two more technical workshops on project cycle management that will lead to a minimum of 4 initiatives across Lebanon to promote the concept of peaceful living together, the right to participate in public life and the roles of religious actors, civil society members and opinion makers in creating a healthy, just and peaceful community.

Topics will range from:

1-Introduction to Human Rights

2-Gender and diversity, with focus on access to services.

3- Critical thinking and navigating emotions

4- Participation in public life and how to be part of the political reform process

5- Politics VS Policy and how policy can affect our lives

6- Ethics, values, moral principles.

7- Leadership 

8- Evidence based advocacy
