Director, Financial Services

The USAID-funded Lebanon Livelihoods Inclusive Finance Expansion (LIFE) will link vulnerable entrepreneurs at the bottom of the economic pyramid with business training and financial services, improving livelihoods, creating jobs, and reducing poverty while facilitating growth and consolidation of the microfinance sector in Lebanon.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks:

• Collaborate with potential grantee to support design and roll-out of innovative financial products.
• Support provision of tailored technical assistance to lending institutions to provide access to affordable credits.
• Oversee the full cycle of LIFE grants, from grantee application to selection and disbursement, ensuring compliance with Company and client policies and procedures.
• Negotiate with implementing partners on best practices for achieving impact for investors and beneficiaries.
• Assure overall compliance with Grants Under Contract through appropriate delegation to partners and staff.
• Support effective use of resources, on-time delivery of staff and partner deliverables, and compliance with USAID regulations.
• Represent the project professionally in external communications, events and meetings as may be required.
• Develop Expressions of Interest and negotiate with grantees as required.
• Design and lead Bidders’ Conferences.
• Conduct pre-award capacity assessments and develop and execute grantee-led capacity building plans.
• Represent the project professionally with clients, stakeholders and partners.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of direct reports.
• Support the professional development of direct reports, with periodic coaching sessions and annual reviews.
• Coordinate with the team to write, compile and send weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management, business, finance, or other relevant field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience.
• Experience in business development in the financial sector, corporate banking, corporate finance, investment facilitation.
• Experience with grants management and implementation, with experience working in grant management on a USAID or other donor funded project preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholder.
• Strong communication skills - both written and oral – in English and Arabic.
