MLLFL 2021-01 for the purchase of Laptops.

The IECD and SDA have supported in the past years the creation of two technical specialities in Industrial Maintenance and Computer/Mobile Programming in 8 schools around Lebanon, in partnership with the DGVTE.

Since 2018, Lebanon has entered a lasting economic crisis, then experienced political and social unrest since October 2019, devaluation and inflation galloping in the first half of 2020, and finally an increasing spread of the COVID19 pandemic with a real outbreak of contaminations during the month of August. This outbreak is still ongoing, forcing once again schools to resort to distance learning.

The current school year, after an exceptional 2019/2020 edition marked by a very strong pedagogical discontinuity (only 8 to 10 weeks of face-to-face out of the 30 in the school calendar) is proving once again challenging for our students and teachers. A high number of them do not have the proper equipment to study and continue their education and teaching in good conditions. This situation creates further inequality between learners.

In support of the relief effort throughout this economic and health crisis, the AFD is supporting the IECD in implementing a number of emergency solutions aiming at supporting teachers and students throughout this period. 
The purchase of laptops presented here in this bid as part of the imagined solutions will ensure that each learner and teacher can properly access their learning and teaching material.
