Junior Researcher

DESCRIPTION: 

The Centre for Lebanese Studies is looking to recruit a Junior Researcher to work with the team on various education projects one of which to support with a project that aims to develop effective distance  teaching and learning practices.  

 Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with teachers in formal and informal schools to conduct whole school, online and classroom research
• Support in data management and analysis
• Support in writing reports and academic papers
• Coordinate with various partners and support senior researchers in logistical and financial tasks related to the project
• Support in designing a MOOC to build teachers capacities
• Support in evaluating various projects’ activities
• Work with a strict framework of research ethics and confidentiality.
• Assists the CLS team on other related tasks as needed

The Junior Researcher will report on the above activities to the Senior researcher and support all CLS team members.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in the field of education.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a research environment.
• Desirable: knowledge and experience in education and technology
• Research experience in collecting and analysing quantitative & qualitative methodology and data management
• Experience in supporting with writing up full research reports.
• Proof of good writing skills and publications
• Experience with presenting research results
• Proficiency in English and Arabic languages
• Creativity and ability to contribute ideas to the projects
• Proven ability to work as part of a team
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
