World Learning – Dirasa & Makani Programs - SEL Officer

The UNICEF-funded “Dirasa Program" & “Makani Program”, aims to create for out-of-school children, multiple pathways that are flexible and responsive to each child’s unique learning needs. The program will be implemented in private /semi-private schools, community centers and is estimated to target out of school children and Retention support for students who are already enrolled in schools.

Scope:
The SEL Specialist, will align training materials with the National SEL framework, deliver training sessions, provide technical input, organize training content, and collaborate with team members. They will develop SEL guidelines, integrate SEL into lesson plans, allocate resources, and handle additional tasks as needed.

Main Responsibilities

• Align preparation of training material using the National SEL framework as a point of reference
• Conduct and deliver training of trainers and training of teachers.
• Provide technical input to design, execute, and monitor progress of the training
• Ensure organization of comprehensive training modules/content
• Work effectively and in collaboration with other team members in to ensure the smooth implementation of all trainings and other activities defined within the scope of the work
• Develop SEL scope and sequence based on international best practices and based on the National SEL framework
• Embed elements of social and emotional learning into model lesson plans.
• Allocate and develop SEL resources for students and teachers
• Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by the SEL Specialist/Project Manager

Required Qualifications
• MA degree in the field of education or relevant field e.g., psychology, social work, pedagogy, counseling.
• 5 years of relevant training experience with diverse audiences in the field of education.
• Solid understanding of social and emotional learning, human development, child development, contextual factors impacting development, holistic learning approach.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Fluency in Arabic, and English is highly desired.
• Able to travel in Lebanon for conferences/meetings/training/school visits.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility with project demands
