Film Program 2019-2020

Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Beirut Office announces the launch of its Film Program 2019-2020, that aims to support documentary films with the focus on the work of emerging filmmakers from Syria, Lebanon Iraq and Yemen.

The program aims to provide newly emerging filmmakers from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen with the opportunity to express their ideas and perspectives on political and social realities through filmmaking. This support is not only financial but also technical with the help of professionals in the field of filmmaking.

Through this call, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Beirut Office is looking for film projects that fall under the theme of “personal perspectives/perceptions on exile, migration and politics”.

Conditions to apply: 

Films should address the subjects of "personal perspectives/perceptions on exile, migration and politics".

Applicants must have previous experience in filmmaking.

Short film projects should not exceed 20 minutes. Exceptions are made for feature film projects that are in the post-production phase.

The films must be completed by June 2020.

Note: Applicants who are foreign residents in any of the four listed countries and who wish to develop a film project on that context are eligible to apply.
