CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER

In line with AVSI strategy standards:

• Correctly apply and monitor the child protection standards, code of conduct in the centers;
• Monitor staff’s performance in the centers in terms of applying CP and PSS skills and approaches and do regular observation of children and classes;
• Facilitate training sessions and ongoing mentoring and capacity building support for field teams (including center staff, teacher and volunteers) in relevant CP and PSS skills, approaches and behaviors; 
•  
• Collaborate with the team for the implementation of all PSS/ structural recreational activities done in the project’s gateways for children;
• Collaborate for the implementation of activities with caregivers aiming at increasing their CP knowledge and practices with their children;
• Conduct session for bus drivers on how to safely deal with vulnerable children whilst transporting them home-center-home, do follow up and monitoring of this ongoing activity;
• Provide regular field & program team written reports including key recommendations for improvements in terms on integrating CP in Education at field level;
• Manage all referred children beneficiaries’ of the center’s activities: Receive the report forms of cases of child protection and of children with specific needs from project staff, investigate through home visits, interviews, classroom observations, compile an initial assessment, implement an intervention plan in collaboration with all the involved team with each specific child, monitor the ongoing plan implementation until its closure.
• Report back to M&E team on case management services and support staff in charge of data compilation
• Establish and regularly update, monitor and maintain accessible in the centers the CP mapping services and referral system for CP cases (and/or cases with special needs);
• Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the team;

• Regularly coordinate and participate in the meetings with other Child Protection Officers and the Capacity Building/Child Protection Manager
