BACKGROUND:

HEKS/EPER is a Swiss INGO founded in 1946 and based in Zurich. HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide. HEKS/EPER builds on strong partnerships with local NGOs active in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. In Lebanon, HEKS/EPER has been supporting local NGOs since the 1970s to address the needs of both the most vulnerable Lebanese and refugee communities.

Following the cessation of conflicts, Arsal has emerged as an area of high concern with rising humanitarian and development needs. NPA established a field office in Raas Balbeek as of 2018 as part of our humanitarian disarmament programme to clear explosives in North East Lebanon. NPA Lebanon having access to the North East and having acquired knowledge of the local context, Lebanon Development Programme conducted a limited assessment including an initial mapping of local civil society actors in Arsal and surrounding areas to guide the establishment of a post-crisis livelihoods programme.

LAU’s Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) is currently searching for a Strategic Planning Expert to support in the creation of the Human Rights Network within the context of the project “Coordination and Support for the Human Rights Issue Network.” This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the purpose of supporting and promoting “issue networks” of Civil Society Organizations, around several advocacy issues such as enhancing leadership skills of women and adolescent girls through economic empowerment and capacity building.

The Call for Expression of Interest (EoI) is open to all existing and/or new prospective partners who wish to participate in UNHCR’s operations in 2019 and participate in achieving common goals and objectives. Based on concept notes received, UNHCR will select the best-fit partner for the relevant sector(s) and area(s). Applicants are encouraged, where appropriate, to submit a cover letter and concept notes with a countrywide geographical focus, partner capacity allowing.

Expertise France is responsible for implementing in Lebanon a program aiming to support the Syrian refugee population and the Lebanese host communities. The program seeks to improve social stability between communities in Lebanon through a comprehensive and local approach. The program “QUDRA– Resilience for Syrian refugees, IDPs and host communities in response to the Syrian and Iraqi crises’” is a regional action financed by the EU Regional Trust Fund (Madad) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
