Medair, in close collaboration with MOSA, currently supports six clinics in Central, West and North Bekaa, with a focus on mother and child health, in addition to mental health and psychosocial support. Medair supports clinics through the provision of human resources, medicines, equipment, capacity building and supportive supervision to each of the clinics.
Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in the SDC catchment area deliver a community health promotion package and have been trained on relevant health topics including exclusive breastfeeding, family planning, essential maternal and newborn.

Medair Lebanon currently implements a health project to provide Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese access to primary health care in Social Development Centre (SDC) clinics and promote behavior change through the Community Health Program by working with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and local NGOs, and facilitated by community health volunteers (CHV) and community midwives (CMW) in the Bekaa Valley. Medair requires a representative Knowledge, Practice and Coverage (KPC) household survey measuring standardized health and nutrition indicators via randomised sampling to assess the current health and nutrition related knowledge, practices and service coverage of the Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese in the project areas in Bekaa valley,in Lebanon. The purpose of the survey is to provide robust data acceptable to current and potential donors, in order to evaluate and adjust current implementation of programming and to support future programming priorities

The Professional Photographer visit will play an important role in fulfilling the visibility requirements agreed to between EU-Madad consortium members, as well as contribute resources to a photography exhibit in Beirut towards the end of 2018.
This will be an opportunity to promote EU-Madad consortium work with Syrian refugees in the Bekaa Valley (encompassing EU-Madad-funded interventions such as the community groups and community health volunteers, along with psychosocial support if necessary), as well as promote Medair’s work and the funding of the European Union to Lebanese audiences.

Medair, Tearfund, and ACCTS propose, in partnership with CBOs, a community-based project with the purpose to strengthen the protection mechanisms for Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities in Lebanon – funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund ‘Madad’. The core of this project is a package of interventions and messages called Healthy Family, Peaceful House (HFPH). Medair is releasing this call for Community Based Organisations to recruit and train volunteers to deliver the HFPH package.Volunteers will be organised into Care Groups of 8-12 volunteers, overseen by each CBO.
