LPDC's Workshop: Recovery and Development Initiatives in NBC Surrounding Communities - progress 2008

Following the Nahr EL Bared War, LPDC launched in 2008 a workshop mapping the recovery and development initiatives in the camp's area. Documents in this package include: - "Handout LPDC workshop on NBC": Project summary sheet of rehabilitation of sanitation system in North Lebanon. Done in collaboration with the German Government through KfW Entwicklungsbank. Overall programme goal is to quickly improve the living conditions of the Lebanese population and the Palestinian refugees in the project area. The programme’s objective is to improve the collection of the wastewater in the project area (in a hygenically and environmentally sound manner), and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of water supply. - "Launching-NBC-USAID RI CHF-Nov08": presentation of assistance program to affected areas around Nahr El Bared, planned from 2008 to 2011. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by CHF International Lebanon and Relief International. The program aims at enhancing economic growth, job creation, and income generation, and will focus primarily on 21 villages that have been severely affected around the NBC. - "Launching handout-NBC- USAID RI CHF-Nov08": handout relevant to the previous program, funded by USAID and implemented by CHF and Relief International. - "Bruno - Financement EC - Nahr el Bared": shows the financial and institutional support provided by the European Commission to address reconstruction needs in Nahr El Bared. - "DR. Sateh NBC Surounding Areas - Presentation - November 26-2008": presentation by Director of NBC Recovery and Reconstruction Cell, Dr. Sateh Chafic El-Arnaout, going over the socio-economic context of the NBC area, the supply of development aid, and the development partnership constituted of projects to be implemented in the NBC area and North Lebanon. - "Pierre - ECHO - LPDC workshop 261108": presentation of the European Commission Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO) response to the Nahr El Bared crisis, and their 2009 plan for interventions in NBC. - "WB - LEBANON Donor Meeting's presentation Nov 26 2008": outlines the World Bank's program concerning the Nahr El Bared recovery, including the objectives, processes of implementation, funding distribution, priorities and constraint, and the regional development strategy. -"مشاريع الكويت الشمال": document in Arabic presenting Kuwait projects in the framework of Lebanon's reconstruction.
