Teachers S Training On The Foundations Of Democracy
The Foundations of Democracy Series (FOD) consists of curricular materials for students from kindergarten and elementary classes and aims at introducing these students to the four concepts fundamental to an understanding of politics and government: Authority, Privacy, Responsibility, and Justice. This multidisciplinary curriculum draws upon such fields as political philosophy, political science, law, history, literature, and environmental studies.
FOD consists of four colorful, easy to understand stories each dealing with one of the four above-mentioned concepts. In each story, a group of friendly characters interacts and deals with different circumstances. At the end of each story, things become complicated thus inciting the students to look for solutions and take a stand on what is happening. FOD also provides the students with tools to facilitate the understanding of the material such as role play, group work, communication exercises
