International Alert is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Officer to support our team in projects, specifically related to social stability, gender equality, psychosocial support (MHPSS), and education in Lebanon. The role involves coordinating project activities, coordinating with local partners, and providing technical expertise to ensure the effective delivery of project outcomes. The Project Officer will work closely with the senior management team to implement gender and MHPSS strategies that address community needs and promote sustainable peace.

International Alert, with the support of UNDP, is currently implementing the project titled “Strengthening Gender Mainstreaming in Social Stability Activities in Lebanon.” This project addresses the gap in gender integration within the Social Stability Sector (SoST) under the Lebanon Response Plan (LRP). It aligns with UNDP’s strategic priority to embed gender considerations into social stability activities and aims to enhance the capacity of LRP partners and civil society organizations (CSOs) to incorporate gender perspectives into their strategies, projects, and programs.

International Alert Lebanon is implementing the “Enhancing CSOs’ ability to foster social stability in Hasbaya and Southern Baalbeck” project in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the framework of “Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises (ACE)” programme with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry for economic cooperation and development (BMZ). The project objective is “Improved horizontal social stability in target communities' greater capacity of CSOs to conduct gender activities.

The purpose of this job is to have a new team member who will be enthusiastic and interested in growing with the programme. The Finance, Logistics & Admin Officer will support Alert’s work and contribute to the programme’s impact and sustainability by supporting the team’s finance and office administration. You will also oversee the organization and logistical management of key project activities, such as local and international conferences, trainings and research activities. You will be a skilled self-starter, who is impeccably organized and fluent in Arabic and English (French is a plus).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead International Alert’s peacebuilding programmes in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including direct management of our Lebanon and Tunisia country teams and development of our work in other countries across the region. You’ll develop and lead delivery of the strategy for Alert’s work in MENA, overseeing programme delivery and quality, ensuring our work deliver peace outcomes. You’ll lead the MENA team to collaborate equitably and supportively with partners.

International Alert is seeking a qualified consultant to lead an organisational capacity and needs assessment process in at least 15 civil society organisations (CSO) working in Hasbaya and Southern Baalbeck areas.
