Syria Programs Regional Assistant

1) The Syria Programs Regional Assistant (SPRA) works for the AVSI MENA Regional Office under the direct supervision of the Regional Programs Director and the Regional Manager.
2) The SPRA will be called upon to support AVSI Mena's development strategy following the guidelines of the Regional Programs Director
 3) The SPRA, compatibly with the usual issues of entry visas, will be based in Damascus with frequent missions to Aleppo and Beirut (headquarter of AVSI MENA regional office).
 4) The SPRA will cooperate closely with AVSI Syria Programs Director, also based in Damascus, without having a direct hierarchical link with him (The SPRA depends directly on the Regional Office and is not part of the AVSI Syria staff, See point 1)
 5) The SPRA will directly supervise a health project implemented by three Syrian hospitals (two in Damascus and one in Aleppo), a project funded by AVSI Italia in terms of fund raising but managed directly by the hospitals . The aim of this project is to provide free medical care to the most deprived patients.
6) SPRA will coordinate with the relevant reference authorities of this project and will ensure that the activities (in terms of program and finance) are properly carried out, by intervening on time for any technical or logistical support these subjects need
7) The SPRA will regularly collaborate with the other AVSI MENA Regional Departments (Programs, Operations, Communication, Monitoring & Evaluation) in order to ensure a proper execution of his tasks.
8) The SPRA will respect AVSI MENA internal procedures and will ensure that these procedures are also properly applied on field.
9) Upon the indication of his direct supervisors, SPRA will also collaborate with AVSI Syria's office for the development of its activities.
10) Contract duration: 6 months renewable.
11) Experience: At least 5 years of managing humanitarian projects in contexts of emergency. Experience in the health field is an advantage.
12) Excellent knowledge of Arabic is mandatory, both oral and written. Good knowledge of French and English.
