Job Summary:

The Syria Support Protection of Family Links (PFL) Field Officer supports the implementation and monitoring of ICRC missing-related and PFL activities set by the Syria delegation for the Syria Protection Support (SYS) in Beirut.

Objectives and Tasks:

In line with existing working procedures, and institutional guidelines, the PFL Field Officer:

  • Ensures the proper and timely treatment of all missing-related cases attributed to him/her in the STM inbox (dam_tracing_services). It includes, among others:
  • The treatment of requests in a timely and professional manner, including internal and external follow-up of requests.
    • Ensuring proper individual follow-up of cases, by communicating with other ICRC structures, the sub-delegations in Syria, and National Societies.
    • Ensuring the sharing of information.
    • Ensuring the filing and archiving of relevant documents.
  • Ensures data quality of TC/AoA received from abroad and from Syria.
  • Analyses the humanitarian environment, keeps him/herself abreast on the political developments in the country, and documents herself on the history of the issue of PFL and missing person files in Syria.
  • Translates or interprets upon request.
  • Carries out additional tasks relating to PFL/Missing in Syria.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct
  • Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times
  • Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times
  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers
  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Years of experience required: 2 to 3 years of experience in Social Worker or Call operator or in a similar field

Level of education: Bachelor’s degree.

Field of education: Social Work, international affairs, or similar fields.

Languages: Arabic (Native) English (Full Professional working)

Computer Literacy: Intermediate
