ALEF – Act for Human Rights is a Lebanese non-profit, non-partisan human rights watchdog organization that works on documenting, and promoting human rights violations and values in Lebanon.

Vision:
A sustainable socio-political order, wherein the intrinsic value of every human being is respected by duty bearers and upheld in policy agendas

Mission:
ALEF seeks to strengthen the respect and fulfillment of human rights as a cornerstone of social, economic, and political development. By embracing a comprehensive approach to monitor, defend, and educate on human rights, ALEF aims to complement and gear all efforts towards the achievement of an influential human rights constituency, and the realization of a durable peace.

Background of the Organization

ALEF is a Lebanese non-profit, non-partisan, human rights watchdog organization that works on documenting and promoting human rights violations and values in Lebanon.
As part of ALEF’s efforts to monitor violations in Lebanon to International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and to rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), we are seeking an experienced Research Consultant to lead on data consolidation and analysis, in collaboration with our Human Rights Violations Monitoring Unit (HRVMU).

Peace & Conflict Desk Manager

ALEF’s advocacy and policy work is organized into different thematic desks (Peace & Conflict, Justice & Rule of Law, Refugees & Migration, Freedom of Expression & Assembly, Transitional Justice): This Desk Manager role encompasses responsibilities for the "Peace & Conflict" desk. The position reports to the Programs Manager. If the role for Programs Manager is vacant, the position will be under the supervision of the Executive Director. The role involves advocacy, coordination, analysis and project management functions.
